To use Deepgram speech-to-text (STT) with your Salpre AI agents, you need an API key from Deepgram. This key allows Salpre to connect with Deepgram’s transcription service so your AI can understand what callers are saying in real time.
🔹 Steps to Get Your Deepgram API Key
- Create a Deepgram Account
- Go to https://console.deepgram.com.
- Sign up with your email, Google, or GitHub account.
- Log Into the Deepgram Console
- After signing in, you’ll see the Deepgram Console dashboard.
- Navigate to API Keys
- In the left-hand menu, click “Manage → API Keys”.
- Or go directly to: https://console.deepgram.com/project.
- Create a New API Key
- Click “Create New Key”.
- Choose a name for your key (e.g., “Salpre Integration”).
- Select the required permissions (for Salpre, standard Transcription access is enough).
- Copy the generated key.
- Paste the Key into Salpre Dashboard
- Go to Salpre Dashboard → Integrations → Transcriber Providers → Deepgram.
- Paste the API key into the API Key field.
- Click Save.
- Test the Connection
- Place a test call using your Salpre Box.
- If successful, you’ll see accurate real-time transcription in the call panel.
🔹 Important Notes
- Keep your API key private — never post it online or share it publicly.
- If the key is lost or compromised, delete it in Deepgram and generate a new one.
- Deepgram offers free tier minutes but will charge per minute after your quota. Check usage here:
